The Leica Ic is a version of the Leica IIIc, stripped of the viewfinder, rangefinder and slow speeds, made by Leitz for special needs, such as scientific photography, wide-angle photography or tele photography with a reflex housing. It has two accessory shoes, allowing to mount a viewfinder and an auxiliary rangefinder (in vertical position) at the same time.
The Leica Ic is not to be confused with the Leica C or Leica I, often called "Leica I (C)" or even "Leica IC" today, introduced by Leitz after the Leica A.
