| MD-2 with accessory viewfinder |
The Leica MD-2 was a camera for use with Leica M-mount lenses. It was one of the finderless 35mm film Leicas which were concepted for scientific photography. The Leica M electric film winder was mountable. The camera had an automatic exposure mode with shutter speed control aided by TTL metering. Usually these cameras were used with microscope adapters. Nowadays M-Leica fans use the MD-2 for their set with superwide-angle lens and accessory viewfinder because for some reason the camera has a hot shoe for flash usage. This can also be used as shoe for the accessory finder.
The camera was produced circa 1980 by Leitz's factories in Germany and Canada.
