The
Olympus µ[mju:] II Zoom (also called
Stylus or
Epic) was introduced by
Olympus in 1998, to complement the
µ[mju:] range. There were models with 38-80mm (
Zoom or
Zoom 80), 35-70mm(
Zoom 70), 28-80mm (
Wide 80), 38-115mm (
Zoom 115), 38-130mm (
Zoom 130) and 38-140mm (
Zoom 140) zoom lenses.
Later revisions had a
VF addition to their name. This signified an increase in brightness and visibility through the viewfinder, which actually went black when the shutter was released, much like with an SLR.
These
compact cameras generally required a CR123A lithium battery.
The µ[mju:]-III models were introduced in 2002-3, with 38-80mm, 28-100 (Wide 100) 38-120mm and 37.5-150mm models.
